Custom Firmware

Hello everyone, i know i dont post much but no time to most of the time. My name is Jason. I currently PAY for cable and dont plan to change that. But i do own a extra SB5101 and would love to learn how to develop firmware for it. I currently know PIC, ARM, FPGA(SMALL AMOUNT) and some other things like C,C++,C# and some ASM.

I would love to learn what ever i can to create custom firmware and just learn really. Any pointers on what i should read up on and what programs might help. I dont need download links but links to more info would be great. Who knows... if i learn enough i might be the next person to create some neat firmware.

I have a website also. I only post small things there. Im not allowed to post on other projects or jobs i do, mainly because of NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements). So any suggestions would be nice.

I have a Parallel JTAG and already have Haxorware running... cloned my friends MAC from a few blocks down and it works ... but since i pay for service anyway, I have no need to use it all the time.

Thanks in advance!

Clearing CPE table on SB5101 using Haxorware1.1r39

I was reading Der Engel's book "Hacking the cable modem" and I landed on a topic about CPE IP's. I added a pic in this post. Is there a way to clear the CPE table on an SB5101?

SB5100MOD unable to issue more than 1 cmd

Hi everybody, I think I can fix this issue by re-flashing, but I still want to confirm with you, that this is what is what I need to do,
It has been running for about 2 years now, on the same R.R. N.C. MAC ( I guess I am lucky ), tried to telnet and check some stuff .. the scan does not stop, the modem is able to accept only 1 command, after that it does not respond to any next cmd - no errmsg, nothing - keeps scanning when coax disconnected.... ( example: it changes the path, but will not accept any other cmd after the first cmd issued )
tried 20 different approaches to stop scanning, or accept more than one command ( i am stubborn ) - it seems like the shell dies after 1st command - only displays output - it's like the input goes to /dev/null after the 1st cmd. Since it is running good, I am not wanting to re-flash, but just fix the shell issue.... is it possible?

paz

ps: I should post this in the 5100MOD section - sorry - can not change...
